In the first season, the protagonist, Soran Chou, hiding that he is an “outsider” (someone able to use special abilities), encounters a mysterious girl named Houhou Fuu who holds the secret to eternal life.
Together, they will join the Raten Tournament where they will try to solve mysteries related to themselves.
In the 2nd season, which marks the beginning of this fighting tournament between “outsiders,” mysteries will gradually be unveiled and new characters will appear.
The famous cast from the season 1, Tamaru Atsushi (Chou Soran) and Hayami Saori (Fuu Houhou) will be joined by others famous voice actors like Kousuke Toriumi, Kazuyuki Okitsu, Daisuke Hirakawa, Shinnosuke Tachibana, Kenji Nojima, and Youko Hikasa.
Three Episode Impression
[ua_synopsis text="Let’s be honest, the first season was terrible. The art was bad, the story was all over the place and nowhere at the same time, it needed a nurse. The second season however, shows that Haoliners is not only growing, they have become self-aware. The creators were kind enough to make a recap episode meaning that you don’t even have to watch season 1 to get into season 2 saving you 4 hours! The series now focuses on Soran Chou as he participates in a tournament known as Raten Taishou. The competitors are all outsiders like Soran who are trying to win because the winner will get to inherit the Tuutenroku Technique, one of the most powerful and coveted abilities among the outsiders. So, this season will be the tournament arc focusing on battles with Soran and Houhou, as well as new characters like Sei, Ya, and Rekigyoku. There is bound to be some good fights here! Just we have not seen too much yet as of episode three. It has been all about Soran learning more, the introduction of the characters, and a bit of witty humor as he wins his first round. The series has received a MASSIVE facelift making it more enjoyable to watch as well as the story is a lot more coherent. While the first season was a trainwreck to say the least, the second season is back on the tracks, moving forward, and telling an interesting story at a decent pace.
